Jazz Band

  

The Jazz Band is offered to grades 9-12 as a class during the regular school day second semester.  The Jazz Band is open to any student, in good standing, that has experience on an instrument and can read music.  Students enrolled in Jazz Band must participate in the West Ashley High School Marching Band.  Special circumstances are at the discretion of Mr. Lakin.  New Jazz Band members must purchase a West Ashley H.S. Jazz Band Polo Shirt for $20.00.

The Jazz Band performs five to six times per year including conjoined performances with the West Ashley H.S. Concert Band and the West Ashley High School Drama Department.  Other performances include the SCBDA Jazz Festival and a performance at "Relay for Life".  

The Jazz Band rehearses on Tuesdays from 2:30pm - 4:30pm Second Semester.
