Directors  J. EDWARD SHEALY - Director of Bands J. Edward Shealy is currently in his 31st year as Director of Bands at West Ashley High School. He is a graduate of Newberry High School in Newberry, SC where he was a student of Lorraine Paris. He earned his BA Degree in Music Education from Newberry College and has worked on his masters at the Citadel and Charleston Southern University. Mr. Shealy was recognized as Middleton High School's "Teacher of the Year" in 1992 and 1998. In addition to his teaching responsibilities at West Ashley High School, Mr. Shealy is also Fine Arts Department Chairman. His professional affiliations include Phi Beta Mu, Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association, American School Band Director's Association, South Carolina Band Directors' Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and is a past President of the Charleston County Band Directors' Association. Mr. Shealy served as Lower State Middle School Concert Festival Chairman for ten years and is the Associate Director and Visual Coordinator for the Spirit of America National Honor Band. Mr. Shealy is currently the Winter Ensemble Chairman for the South Carolina Band Director's Association.  KEVIN C.
