As the name suggests, the Basketball Band plays at all home basketball games for both varsity teams. The schedule is a little more dense than football but there are only two afterschool rehearsals. Since this is a smaller group, it tends to be able to prepare more music and may even pioneer new music for the marching band. Tryouts and the first practice are open to everyone. All winds are invited but only up to two drumset players and two bassists will be selected.
The Basketball Band schedule will include:
November 17th - 4pm to 6pm - Tryouts/Rehearsal
November 20th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. North Charleston
December 4th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Northwoods/Fox Creek
December 11th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Pinewood Prep
December 14th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Berkeley
January 5th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Stratford
January 12th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Stall
January 19th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. James Island
January 26th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Summerville
February 2nd - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Fort Dorchester
February 9th - 6pm to 10pm - Home vs. Ashley Ridge
If everyone agrees, we may also have everyone buy a ~$30 custom basketball jersey to wear as our uniform.
